What is an Artists' Studio Tour?
Like a garden tour or an historical homes tour, an artists' studio tour allows you to visit the studios of visual artists.
As we open our studios, we provide an opportunity for the public to interact with artists in their creative spaces, however grand or humble. Visitors see works in progress, demonstrations, and explanations that you just don't get in a gallery experience. Most all work on display is for sale.
Create your own self-guided tour! Decide which artists' studios you want to visit during Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th. Hours both days will be 12 - 5 PM.
You can begin at any point and visit as few or as many studios as you wish between the hours of 12 and 5 PM. Many artists show solo in their studios; some show their work in pairs; and some artists are located at Farmstead Arts in Basking Ridge.
See you on the Fourth Annual Tour on October 4 & 5, 2014!!
*NOTICE: ARTsee Studio Tour and any artists participating in the tour are not responsible for any items lost, stolen or damaged at or in conjunction with the tour, or any injuries sustained by anyone while on the tour, either in the participating studios or while traveling between studios. The ARTsee Open Studio Tour does not make any representations as to the tour locations, and advises all participants that caution should be taken in and around the studios, art work and displays, and in traveling to and from each portion of the tour.
Your participation in this tour shall constitute your acknowledgment of this Notice.
Working together, the Basking Ridge Business Alliance, ARTsee and Farmstead Arts have brought art into offices and shops of members during the month of September.
Coldwell Banker - Painting by Gail Mardfin
Basking Ridge Therapy - Giclées by Beth Murphy (left); raku pots by Susanna Kopchains (right)
ARTsee organizers Alex Bigatti, Susanna Kopchains, and Beth Murphy have hung works specifically complimenting each location by considering the merits of the artists and the environment.
The celebration of this town wide art show will be held at the Brick Academy (15 W. Oak Street, Basking Ridge) on September 16th from 5:30pm - 7pm. On hand to greet you will be the artists, some of their works of art and members of both the Somerset Hills Historical Society and the Basking Ridge Business Alliance. Refreshments will be served.
During September at Coldwell Banker will be the art of Gail Mardfin, Arturo Moreno, and Sonja Kuhfahl; Ridge Restaurant has Regina DeFrancisco; Basking Ridge Eye Care Center shows Tammy DeVoe; Patricia A. Hucko/ Basking Ridge Therapy, both Susanna Kopchains and Beth Murphy; Mockingbird Cafe, works by Alex Bigatti; Wabba Travel shows off jewelry by Anjali Shalit; Lord Stirling Stables, work by Kevin Eberle; and the Farmstead features Lorraine Nevers, resident artist.
Ridge Family Dentistry is the ultimate tribute to these artists. Dr. Witt bought the work of Filip Everaert on an ARTsee Open Studio Tour and the art is the focal point in the decor of this office. Be sure to go in and see what your business or home office could look like!
During the normal hours at each business you are invited to stop in and look at the art work. This project is a work in motion, leading up to the ARTsee Open Studio Tour the first weekend in October, and encouraging ongoing support of the community for our "Main Street."
The walls and tables of these businesses have come alive with the art.Maps are available at Wabba Travel, Coldwell Banker, Lord Stirling Stables & the Brick Academy
